In 1952 Jacques Cadry established Cadrys Handwoven Rugs at its now famous historic sandstone showrooms in Edgecliff, Sydney. Jacques came from a family who had been dealing in rugs and carpets since the 1800’s in his native Iran.

The Cadry Family continues this tradition and their company Cadrys is now one of the most trusted and reliable sources of quality handwoven rugs in Australia.

Cadrys which today is led by sons, Edward and Robert along with their sons, Mark, Ari and Jared Cadry have amassed Australia’s largest collection of collectible and decorative antique rugs from Persian, Anatolian, Caucasian and European origins.

The company has since expanded from its original showroom in Edgecliff, Sydney and now hosts three retail showrooms, two wholesale showrooms and two distribution warehouses between Sydney and Melbourne.

Our classic showroom in Edgecliff, Sydney, spans four levels and showcases the most diverse collection of authentic classic rugs. From our Antique & Silk Collection located on our gallery level which features masterpieces from the late 1800’s through to the late 1900’s and our ever changing selection of the finest classical, tribal and one of a kind rugs of Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and Morocco, we aim to present the most unique rugs to our clients.

Our contemporary showrooms (Edgecliff, Sydney & Prahran, Melbourne) are havens for architects, designers and their clients holding exclusive rights to leading designers such as: Jan Kath and Florence Broadhurst. While also establishing themselves at the forefront of contemporary rug design through their own design library and collaborations with local designers. Cadrys Contemporary produces their rugs throughout India & Nepal and is a proud member of GoodWeave, the leading authority on ending child labour in the production of handwoven rugs.
