Ellie Malin is a Melbourne based artist whose beautifully coloured and textured art works have created much hype of late, particularly around her very first solo exhibition Moonflower at Modern Times in Fitzroy.
Working primarily in print media, Ellie’s exhibition Moonflower is a collection of woodblock prints that capture the innate beauty of both nature and man-made. The exploration of colour and texture is central to Ellie’s work, focussing on the role of bright colours and forms in creating far away landscapes.
Each piece is made up of layers of paper offcuts which Ellie meticulously layers one on top of the other, creating a frenzy of pastel colours and rich textures.
