Vanessa Teodoro is an illustrator and street artist with background experience in advertising and graphic design. She was born in Cape Town, South Africa and I’m now based in Lisbon, Portugal.
She started out as an art director, working during 3 years in advertising agencies. The commercial world gave her an extra boost on how to handle self-promotion and sell her art. This was an important step in getting to where she is today.
The characters she creates were born from her everyday life such as graffiti/street art, tattoos, african patterns and comic books. Her paintings have adopted a strong language, funny and always have something to say.
She especially likes painting strong female icons and witty colorful pieces with a lot of detail e movement.
